Classwork: To summarizing and demonstrate our understanding of the essential question, we took a common task focusing on the World Religions. First, we analyzed a chart illustrating the main ideas and beliefs of each religions. Then, we summarized the similarities and differences in a top-down graphic organizer. Lastly, using the reading, we completed a short close reading quiz. Classwork: Today, we focused on Islam and its historical roots. We read an article, "Understanding Islam: Beginning to Today." After discussing, we compared all three monotheistic religions. Homework: Current Events Log #2 Red & Orange 1/30 Blue & Green 1/31 Have you asked your student about class Dojo?? Classwork: Back on Track! After learning about the Inauguration and discussing the importance of citizens' rights and responsibilities, we are returning our focus to World Religions. We began by revisiting Christianity and Judaism, before introducing Islam. Our goal is to learn the history and main beliefs of each religion, in order to compare each monotheistic religion, and learn how geography can influence a society or culture.
Homework: Current Events Log #2 Red/Orange 1/30 Blue/Green 1/31 Classwork: This week in class, we put a pause on World Religions, in order to focus on political current events. As the inauguration approaches, we took the time to analyze past presidents and their inaugural addresses. If students would like to participate in a viewing of the inaugural address, they will be excused from their special and participate in a discussion and viewing of the address.
